Adams, Kathy – Bowl with Sun Designs and Lid

Kathy Adam is a daughter of Earl Adams and a niece of noted potter Sadie Adams.  This bowl is coil-built, stone polished, and painted with bee-weed.  It has a series of interconnected Sun Face designs.  The design is taken from the Sun Katsina.  There are four small sun face designs on the top of the lid and even one on the bottom!  It is tightly painted and traditionally fired to create blushes on the surface.  It is signed, “Kathy Adams”.  It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
