This is a large, fully polished bowl by Susana Aguilar.  The piece is from the 1920s.  It is an open bowl that is fully polished on the inside and the outside.  It is painted black-on-black and has a series of bird and prayer feather designs that encircle the piece.  Note the variations of very thick lines and then thin, curved lines for the birds! It is an interesting combination of painting styles.  The piece is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Susana”. The bowl is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair but some light surface scratches.  The last photo is of Susana Aguilar around 1920.
