Alvin Baca is known for his classic melon ribbed jars. This jar is carved with 25 ribs encircling the piece.  The entire jar is fully polished, including the short neck.  Even the base of the jar is polished!  The shape is a classic for Alvin with the high shoulder and short neck.  The jar is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Alvin Baca.”
