This is a striking jar by Harrison Begay, Jr, especially for the size!  The jar is square in shape, giving it four sides of designs.  Two sides are fully designed with bear and cloud patterns.  One has the bear at the top of the designs, the other has the bear near the base.  Separating the bears are waterfalls. The jar uses both highly polished sections and matte areas.  Note as well how even the lip of the jar is fully polished!  Harrison also uses a signature style of carving which has a beveled appearance to the angle of the cuts into the clay. The carved angles further draw the eye to the designs and polished surfaces.  The jar is signed on the bottom in the clay.
