Blue Corn – Black Bowl with 40 Feathers (1970s)

This is a classic bowl by Blue Corn.  She is certainly one of the most creative potters of her time, and she used a variety of clays and firing techniques to create her distinctive pottery.  This bowl is round in shape and fully polished to a glassy shine.  The piece has 40 symmetrical feathers painted around the piece. The bowl was traditionally fired to a glassy black coloration.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Blue Corn”.   It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
