Blue Corn (1921 - 1999)
This is a classic jar by Blue Corn. She is s certainly one of the most creative potters of her time with a varied use of clays and firing techniques to create her distinctive pottery. The jar is a distinctive shape with a wide shoulder and sloping sides. It is painted with a feather pattern around the jar. There are 24 evenly painted feathers. The jar is highly polished and fired to a near-gunmetal coloration. It is signed in the clay, “Blue Corn”. It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
