This is one of the most unusual colorations we have seen from Blue Corn. The jar is fully polished red and then painted with a matte red to create 38 feather designs encircling the piece. There is a tan clay band around the rim and a tan clay is also used for the clouds above the feathers. Near the base, there is another band of brown clay with the black painted above and below. Altogether there are four different colors of clay on this jar! It is from the 1970s. It was traditionally fired. It is signed in the clay on the bottom, “Blue Corn”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
