Cain, Linda – Rainclouds and Corn Pollen Long Neck Jar
This is a long neck jar by Linda Cain. Linda is a daughter of Mary Cain and the mother of Tammy Garcia and Autumn Borts. This jar has a long neck with three carved sections. The carved areas are stylized birds and clouds. They are separated by lightning designs. In the background, Linda has painted small dots in colors of the four directions (north, south, east, and west). They are meant to represent the cornmeal or corn pollen and the various directions. Note the depth of the carving on the jar. It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Linda Cain”.
