This is a complex new jar by Linda Cain.  Linda is a daughter of Mary Cain and the mother of Tammy Garcia and Autumn Borts.  This jar is very deeply carved.  There is a small bear that is carved and polished red.  The remainder of the jar is fully carved with cloud, rain and lightning designs.  They are all polished tan. The contrast of the tan and red is always visually striking.  The carving of the various designs also utilizes much of the negative space of the jar so the flow from rim to base. While not a large piece, it is gem-like in its intricacy.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Linda Cain”.
