Diane “He’shi Flower” Calabaza (b.1955) is a daughter of noted potter Blue Corn.  She was known for her miniature paintings and pottery.  This small bowl is made from native clay, stone polished, and painted with native clay slips.  The bowl is polished a creame color, much like the work of her mother.  It is painted with red clay.  The design is a series of flowers encircling the bowl.  It is a detailed and well-painted piece of her pottery.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “He’shi Flower, San Ildefonso”.    It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
