Sunday Chavarria is a daughter of noted potter Stella Chavarria and a granddaughter of Teresita Naranjo.  She is a sister of Denise Chavarria. She is known for her contemporary pottery.  This jar is fully carved with a feather design around the neck.  Around the shoulder are cloud, rain and wind designs.  The entire jar is fully polished.  It is fired a deep black.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Sunday Chavarria”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.  Sunday rarely makes pottery these days, yet her work remains traditional and classic.
