Stella Chavarria is a daughter of noted potter Teresita Naranjo and a granddaughter of Christina Naranjo. This is a classic piece of her pottery.  The bowl has deeply carved cloud designs which encircle the piece.  There is certainly a similarity to the work of her mother with the flow of carving and carving depth.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay.  The piece is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.  While Stella makes very little pottery today her work continues to reflect Santa Clara pottery traditions.
