Chino, Alicia Kelsey – Bowl with Corn Design
Alicia Kelsey Chino (b. 1979) s a daughter of noted potter Darla Davis and a granddaughter of Rachel JWhite. She learned to make pottery from her mother. She is known for her traditional style designs. This bowl is coil built. It is painted with diamond-shaped corn design with red dots in the center of the corn imagery. The design extends from the rim to the base. The rim is turned in which gives the piece an interesting visual appearance. It is signed on the bottom, “A. Chino”.
