Chino, Alicia Kelsey – Seedpot with Flower Design
Alicia Kelsey Chino (b. 1979) s a daughter of noted potter Darla Davis and a granddaughter of Rachel JWhite. She learned to make pottery from her mother. She is known for her traditional style designs. This large seedpot is coil built and painted before firing. The seedpot has a flower design that extends outward from the center. The design is a complex flow of patterns that extend to the edge of the piece. There is a red-colored clay used to highlight the design near the center. It is signed on the bottom, “A. Chino”.
