Chino, Alicia Kelsey – Square Jar with Mountain Designs
Alicia Kelsey Chino (b. 1979) s a daughter of noted potter Darla Davis and a granddaughter of Rachel JWhite. She learned to make pottery from her mother. She is known for her traditional style designs. This jar has flat sides and it is fully painted. The design is a series of triangular mountain designs. They are accented with red triangles as part of the design. The piece continues the Acoma tradition of “op-art” designs. The piece is signed on the bottom, “A. Chino”.
