Chino-Garcia, Rose – Jar with Corn Design (1980s)

6.5"w x 5.5"h

$ 700.00

Rose Chino was a daughter of noted potter Marie Z. Chino. This jar is a classic Acoma shape with a high shoulder and short neck.  It is painted with a corn kernel pattern which has an “op-art” style starting small at the neck, the larger at the shoulder and smaller at the base.  The jar is signed on the bottom, “Rose Chino Garcia”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.  The jar came from Richard Howard, who was an art dealer in the 1970s-2000s and his inventory number is the small “118” sticker on the bottom.
