8"w x 6.5"h

$ 850.00

Gilbert Chino (b. 1946) is a son of noted potter Marie Z.Chino and brother of Carrie Chino, Rose Chino, Vera Chion and Jody Chino.  He primarily made pottery in the 1980’s.  This large seedpot is fully painted with alternating mountain and rain patterns.  It creates a checkerboard pattern across the surface of the piece. Note how the designs are elongated to the rim and change size to fit the form.  The seedpot is painted with bee-weed.  It is signed on the bottom, “Gilbert Chino”.  It was made in 1981.  It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.  Definitely a rarity in the Chino family pottery!
