Chino, Marie Z. – Jar with Fine-Line Interlocking Stars (1969)
This is a classic jar by Marie Z. Chino. Marie is famous as one of the revivalists at Acoma Pueblo, along with Lucy M. Lewis, Jessie Garcia, and a few others. This jar is thin-walled and tightly painted. There are eight-point stars interlocking with four-point stars. The jar is very tightly painted. It was originally purchased in 1969. The black-and-white designs give the jar a very graphic and modernist appearance. The jar was traditionally fired so there are some very slight color variations to the white. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
