This is a classic jar by Marie Z. Chino.  Marie is famous as one of the revivalists at Acoma Pueblo, along with Lucy M. Lewis, Jessie Garcia, and a few others.  This small jar is thin-walled and tightly painted.  There are cloud and rain designs extending down from the rim. Near the shoulder are plant patterns.  The jar was traditionally fired so there are some very slight color variations to the white.  It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.  The jar is signed on the bottom, “Marie Z. Chino”.
