Chino, Vera – Jar with Plant Designs (1970’s)

7"w x 5.75"h

$ 250.00

Vera Chino is the youngest daughter of noted potter Marie Z. Chino.  She made pieces in the late 1970s and often in collaboration with her mother.  Marie would make the pieces and Vera would paint them.  The jar is a classic Acoma shape with a high shoulder and short neck.  The jar is painted with plant and rain patterns.  There is a lot of fine-line painting and delicate imagery on this jar.  There is a nice balance of shape and design on this piece.  It is in good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.  The jar is signed on the bottom in the clay, “V. Chino”.
