Chino, Vera – Large Jar with Rain Designs (1970’s)

8"w x 6.5"h

$ 275.00

Vera Chino is the youngest daughter of noted potter Marie Z. Chino.  She made pieces in the late 1970s and often in collaboration with her mother.  Marie would make the pieces and Vera would paint them.  The jar is a classic Acoma shape with a high shoulder and short neck.  The jar is painted with classic designs of rain and lightning patterns.  There is a nice balance of shape and design on this piece.  It is very thin-walled!  It is in good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.  The jar is signed on the bottom in the clay, “V. Chino”.
