Carolyn Concho is well known for her beautifully painted pottery using Mimbres animals, reptiles, and insects.  This is a larger piece of her pottery.  It is a flat canteen. There are Mimbres lizards, rabbit, mountain lion, quail, deer, and fish on the front.  They are each painted with bee-weed and highlighted with additional clay slips.  It is a complex and colorful canteen!   All the different colors are from natural clay slips.  It is signed on the back n the clay, “C. Concho”.  It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
