The painting on this box by Dolores Curran is very complex for its size.  The entire piece is fully polished and painted with designs. The side of the round box has very tightly painted cloud and rain designs.  Over each of the cloud patterns is a very delicately painted rainbow. The piece has a lid with a raised center.  Around the top are cloud and rain designs.  It was traditionally fired black and has a glossy surface from the stone polishing. The jar is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Dolores Curran”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
