Da, Jarrod – “Masks Family” Acrylic and Mixed Media

12" x 12"

$ 875.00

Jarrod Da has created a distinctive style of painting.  While he has traditionally been using pastels, he has recently moved into using acrylics for his paintings.  His new work is a blend of contemporary themes with San Ildefonso and Pueblo imagery.  This piece is entitled, “Masks Family”.  Jarrod says of this painting:

“This piece illustrates a family and how each individual has their own character traits. The characterization on each mask is done differently through design to recognize these different character traits. The large red mask represents the greater power and our spiritual sense we have connecting us to the world around us. The design work in this piece is contemporary, for instance the lines representing feathers on the top of each mask is a straight line with lines shooting only upward only to hint at a feather but also to represent a more linear object like a TV antenna. The blocks inside the buttes and mesas is represenative of a natural color pallet that is common in the high deserts of New Mexico.”

The painting is signed, “DA 18”.  It is an exciting new venture in his painting style!
