11.75"w x 4"h

$ 485.00

Alice Dahsee is from Walpi, First Mesa at Hopie and she began making pottery in 1970.  This is a large fully polished piki bowl.  The bowl is plain and this style is often referred to as a “piki” bowl at Hopi, as it is a traditional style used to make piki bread.  The bowl is fully polished on the inside and outside.  It was traditionally fired to create the blushes on the surface.  The jar is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.  It is signed on the bottom, “Alice Dashee”.  There is a photo of Alice taking the bowl out of the firing.
