Titus Davis is the son of noted potter Darla Davis and a cousin of Eric Lewis.  He creates coil built pottery that combines the classic fine-line designs with a modern approach.  This jar has a fineline pattern which encompass the surface of the piece.  There is a negative space lightning pattern which extends down from the rim and  breaks up this classic linear pattern.  It flows around the shoulder of the jar and created a dynamic appearance.  The jar has such a varied appearance as it is turned.   The shape and designs work perfectly together.  Titus is certainly a young potter to watch!
