Cynthia Star Flower Dunlap (1959-2018) was a daughter of Carmelita Dunlap and a granddaughter of Juanita Montoya Vigil, the youngest sister of Maria Martinez.  She was sister to Linda Dunlap, Jennie Dunlap, Carlos Dunlap, and Martha Appleaf Fender.   This large jar has a shape similar to those made by Carmelita Dunlap, with a high shoulder and elongated neck.  The jar is fully polished.  Above the shoulder are cloud and rain designs.  Below the shoulder are rain and plant patterns.  The designs are painted red-on-red before the piece was traditionally fired.  The jar was traditionally fired a deep red coloration.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Cynthia Star Flower”.  It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
