Virginia Ebelacker was the first daughter of noted potter Margaret Tafoya.  She was known for large-sized pottery and her use of deeply carved designs.  This is one of her few wedding vases. The piece is deeply carved with cloud and lightning designs.  The background has the classic cream-colored clay. The piece was fired to a deep red coloration.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Virginia Ebelacker”.  It is from the 1980s.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.  Her sons Richard and James were both known for their distinctive large pottery.
