Jody Folwell is known for her creative pottery shapes and designs.  This jar is one of her classic tall shapes with a high shoulder and an asymmetric rim.  The jar has a large polished panel surrounded by two sections of incised designs.  On the right is an incised bird slipped with green clay.  On the left are incised clouds, and lightning patterns.  They are also slipped green. The remainder of the jar is slipped matte brown with two darker brown stripes extending from the rim to the base.  The shape and design give the jar a very modern appearance.  It is signed on the bottom, “Jody”.  The jar is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
