Jody Folwell is known for her creative pottery shapes and designs.  This jar is one of her classic tall shapes with a high shoulder and sloping neck. The jar has fished carved in relief on the surface.  Each fish is in a different state of movement and each is polished tan. They are surrounded by incised fish incised into the clay.  The jar is slipped with pink clay in the background and greenish-tan clay for the fish.  It is a complicated and striking jar.  It is signed on the bottom, “Jody”.  The jar is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
