Polly Rose Folwell is a daughter of Jody Folwell and a sister of Susan Folwell.  She is known for use of classic designs on her traditional inspired Santa Clara pottery. This jar has a round shoulder and an asymmetric rim.  It is fully polished and fired red with a black neck.  The jar is etched with a mountain design around the rim and water designs below.  There are the Folwell family “x’s” etched across much of the surface.  This design is often found on their pottery.  Note the contrasting areas which are matte and those which are polished, which draws the eye across the surface of the piece.   The jar is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Polly Rose”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
