Polly Rose Folwell is a daughter of Jody Folwell and a sister of Susan Folwell.  She is known for use of classic designs on her traditional inspired Santa Clara pottery. This jar is very thin-walled.  It is fully polished and fired a coloration that ranged from red (base) to nearly black on the rim.  It is fully designed with feather, cloud, and water patterns.  Note the very tiny tightly etched “x’s” which fill in much of the design.  They are a design associated with the Folwell family and represent stars.  The bowl is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Polly Rose”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
