Polly Rose Folwell is a daughter of Jody Folwell and a sister of Susan Folwell.  She is known for use of classic designs on her traditional-inspired Santa Clara pottery. This jar is coil-built and has an asymmetric rim.  It is fully polished and fired a coloration that ranged from red to nearly black.  Did you know that while the pieces are traditionally fired, at the end of the firing instead of covering them with horse manure, the Folwells use cow manure so that the jar turns brownish-red and has more dramatic fire clouds.  The jar has a feather design around the center of the piece.  Above are clouds and below are mountains. There are thin-line rain patterns.  The jar is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Polly Rose”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
