Glendora Fragua is known for her intricately incised pottery.  This piece is from the 1980s.  It is polished on one half of the piece and then etched. There is a sun and very complex feather pattern.  The etched designs are then highlighted with additional clay slips.  The remainder of the piece is matte and has painted rain and cloud designs.  All the colors are derived from natural clay slips.  The piece is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay with Glendora’s corn hallmark.
