This is one of the large pieces we have had by Effie Garcia.  It is her famous shape with a narrow base and wide shoulder.  The bowl is deeply carved with four sections.  There are plant designs underneath a step cloud and rain designs.  Note the depth of the carving and how she has outlined the design with the clay for emphasis.  The surface is stone polished and the piece is traditionally fired to a deep black coloration.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Effie Garcia”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
