Garcia, Epofania (Epi) – Painted Jar with Mountain Patterns (1940’s)
Epi Garcia made very little pottery during her career. This is one of the only pieces we have seen. It is well constructed and polished red and tan. On the red polished top she painted with both red and white clay slips. The designs are mountain, lighting and rain patterns. They are striking and complex. The bowl is signed on the bottom, “Epi Garcia”. It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
