Gloria Garcia is known for her miniature sgraffito pottery.  She is a daughter of Petra Gutierrez and the sister of Lois Gutierrez, Minnie Vigil, and Thelma Talachy.  This is one of her larger pieces.  The bowl is highly polished and fired red.  There are three horses etched into the clay as the design.  Around the rim of the bowl, there are lightning and prayer feather desigsn.  The use of the negative space of the highly polished surface is perfect on this bowl to create space between the horses.  This piece is signed on the bottom with her Tewa name “GoldenRod”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
