This is a clay figure by Jason Garica.  He began making clay figures in the 1990s.  They were made to depict events, people, and dances at Santa Clara Pueblo.  Around 2003 he made his first clay tile and, the rest is history, as they say.  His clay figures, however, are fascinating.  They are detailed in form and dimension. This is one of his early sets of four figures.  There are two tourists with their cameras.  They are photographing two Pueblo children. They are both smiling and waring mocassins.  One of the children has a highly carved blanket around his shoulders and I think he even has a flat-top buzz cut!  The other boy is wearing a very detailed shirt.  Note the detail on the cameras, the camera bag, and even the coats relative to their being carved in clay.  The figures ar painted with native clay slips.  Each piece is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Jason Garcia’.  They are in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.  I
