This is a very intricate jar from Jason.  It is coil built and painted with native clay slips. The jar has four sections of the design, each depicting the Four Seasons and four different pueblo dances associated with each season.  There is a Buffalo Dance, Corn Dance, Basket Dance, and Butterfly Dance.  They represent Summer, Winter, Spring, and Fall.  The figures are painted in a classic Santa Clara two-dimensional style. They are very intricately painted.  The jar has a square shape that works well to show off two sides at a time. The top has traditional Santa Clara cloud and rain design.  It is a striking jar in both shape and design.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Okuu Pin” which means Turtle Mountain.
