Reycita Garcia began making pottery in the 1950s.  She is known for her very intricately incised pottery and figurative work.  This is one of her figures beaking bread in a horno oven. If you look inside the oven there is even bread baking inside!  The figure is slipped with natural clay for the coloration.  It is traditionally fired  It is signed on the bottom, “Reycita Garcia”.  It is in very condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair but a slip crack across the bottom which does not extend through the piece.
