$ 12,000.00

This is a complex jar by Tammy Garcia.  The jar is from 1995 and it has four sections of melon ribs.  Each of the ribs extends from the neck to the base. Each section has 5 ribs for a total of 20 on the entire jar.  Separating each section of the ribs are elongated panels of carved cloud wind and bird designs.  The panels are deeply carved and are complex in the various designs.  Each panel is different!  The rim of the jar is a classic “Raindrop” rim with the undulating shape.  It is also beautifully polished.  The jar is signed on the bottom int he clay, “Tammy Garcia”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.  Tammy has won numerous awards for her pottery and been the recipient of the New Mexico Governor’s award.  It’s not surprising that with the intricate nature of her pottery she makes only about ten pieces of pottery a year.  Yet each piece is unique and expands on her distinctive style and voice in the clay.
