Tina Garcia was well known for her focus on traditional shape and plainware Santa Clara pottery. This is one of the larger pieces of her pottery we have had in a long time.  The jar is thin-walled and it has a double shoulder or “rainbow ridge”.  The ridge is sharp and you can feel inside the bowl how she pushed the clay out to create the variations in form.  The entire surface is fully polished to a glassy shine.  It is fired a deep black.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Tina Garcia”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
