$ 1,400.00

Wilfred Garcia (1954-2018) was married to Sandra Shutiva and was a son-in-law of Stella Shutiva.  He learned to make pottery from Stella.  He called his pottery, “A Vision of Dreams” and was known for his sculptural works in clay.  This is a massive piece that is coil-built.  Around the top of the shoulder, there are three rows of carved corn kernels carved into the clay.  There are small handles on the shoulder as well.  The neck of the jar is carved with a kiva step design. The jar is a fluid shape with such a round shape and the elongated neck.  Simple and elegant!  The piece is signed, “W. Garcia” and it is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
