Glenn Gomez (b. 1954) is a traditional potter from Taos Pueblo. His mother was Cordi Gomez of Pojoaque Pueblo.  When he married, he moved to Taos, which is his wife’s pueblo.  This oval bowl is coil built and made from micaceous clay.  The bowl is slipped with mica and traditionally fired so the inside is black while the outside has a copper coloration. The lid is a rougher texture and fits into the carved rim of the bowl.  It is signed on the bottom, “Glenn Gomez”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
