Tse-Pe Gonzales was a son of noted potter Rose Gonzales.  This seedpot is unusual in coloraiton.  The body of the piece is slipped with mica and it is fired black.  The front medallion has a white polished flute player as the design.  NOte the depth of the background matte area that has been etched away.  There is a piece of shell inlaid for the eye. The piece is signed on the bottom bottom with Tse-Pe’s hallmark. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
