Gutierrez, Denny – Long Neck “Four Seasons” Jar (1988)
Denny Gutierrez was known for his faceted melon bowls. However, he also created exceptional painted vessels. This jar has a long neck and a low shoudler. It is fully polished and painted around the shoulder. The jar has cloud and weather designs that represent each of the four seasons (summer, winter, spring, fall). They encircle the jar and have different styles of clouds, with rain, snow, sun, and wind designs. It’s a very unusual design for his pottery. The jar is polished to a glossy shine. It is from 1988. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair. It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Denny Gutierrez”.
