Denny Gutierrez was known for his faceted melon bowls.  However, he also created exceptional painted vessels. This wide shoulder jar is fully polished and painted with very tightly painted feathers.  There are 27 feathers encircling the jar.  Note how they are painted at a slight angle.  In four sections where the design extends below the shoulder with a wind or cloud pattern.  The jar is polished to a glossy shine.  It is from 1991.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Denny Gutierrez”.
