Denny Gutierrez was known for his faceted melon bowls.  However, he also created exceptional painted vessels. This jar has straight, tall sides and it is fully polished.  The jar is painted with 34 small feathers around the neck.  Note how he painted his feathers with a slight angle swirling around the jar.   Extending up from the feathers are rain clouds and downward are rain designs.   The jar is from 1986.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Denny Gutierrez”.
