Denny Gutierrez was known for his faceted melon bowl. This wide bowl has 32 faceted swirling ribs.  They extend from the rim to the base.  The entire bowl is fully polished.  The lid is unusual. On the base of the lid are 32 straight ribs, which are just slightly rounded. The top part of the lid extends upward and then it is flat. The entire lid is fully polished.  The bowl is from 2005 and was purchased directly from the artist.  It is very highly polished and it is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Denny Gutierrez”.
