Denny Gutierrez was known for his faceted melon bowls.  However, he also created exceptional painted vessels. This jar is an elegant shape with a wide shoulder and a short neck.  There are 52 feathers painted onto the polished surface. Note how they are painted at a slight angle.  The jar is polished to a glossy shine.  It is from 1986.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Denny Gutierrez”.
